I came to ANU in August 2008 after completing a Masters in Law at Monash
University and, before that, a MA at Western Michigan University. I
started out my philosophical life doing metaphysics (with an honours
thesis in time travel, causation and personal identity issues) but in the
last few years I have been interested in what I take to be the
intersection of my interests in philosophy and the law.
I am primarily concerned with theories of political obligation,
disenfranchisement and the relationship between the receipt of benefits
and the generation of obligations. My primary supervisor is Prof. Bob
Goodin. My other supervisors are Christian Barry and Keith Dowding. I
also
currently chair the Social and Political Theory
seminar series.
In my spare time I can be found playing video games, making baked goods
and trying to solve a variety of voting paradoxes.
